Three outstanding students from regional and remote communities across Australia have been awarded The French Beauty Academy’s Rural & Remote Relocation Scholarship for 2025, recognising their resilience, ambition and commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.
These scholarships support students who must relocate to pursue their dream careers in the beauty and wellness industry, helping remove financial barriers so they can focus on study and personal growth.
Congratulations to Jayelan Lang, who has been awarded the French Family Rural & Remote Relocation Scholarship.
Originally from St George, Jayelan is relocating to Brisbane to study at The French Beauty Academy. A proud Yalari scholar and graduate of The Glennie School, she hopes to one day return to her hometown to open her own beauty business.
“Leaving a rural area to study and then coming back can be a really positive experience,” Jayelan shared. “I want to show younger people in my community and mob that they can aim high and still come back to make a difference.”
Her vision reflects The French Beauty Academy’s ethos that transformation starts with one person investing in themselves and continues through the impact they create for others.
Sari Foster has also been named a recipient of the Rural & Remote Scholarship.
Growing up in the small farming town of Wudinna, Sari showed independence and determination by boarding at Immanuel College in Adelaide for three years to complete her schooling.
Her dream is to open a salon where people feel “confident, beautiful and seen.”
“This scholarship means I can focus on learning, growing and building a future where I can make others feel their best — from the inside out,” Sari said.
Her story embodies courage, determination and a commitment to giving back.
Well done to Caitlin Hobbs, another deserving scholarship recipient.
From the regional town of Tinana, Caitlin has balanced Year 12 studies with a Certificate III in Make-Up and part-time retail work. To study at The French Beauty Academy, she will travel weekly to Caboolture — a true testament to her dedication.
“Receiving this scholarship means I can focus more on my education and less on financial stress,” Caitlin said. “My goal is to become a professional make-up artist and eventually own my own business.”
Caitlin represents the creativity, professionalism and courage that The French Beauty Academy aims to nurture in future industry leaders.
