Hot and cold stone therapy is an advanced therapeutic massage technique, using the applications of thermotherapy with cryotherapy. This involves the use of heated volcanic basalt stones and cold marble stones.
This extremely popular therapy uses a combination of traditional and ancient therapies for deep levels of relaxation, rejuvenation and muscle relief. Hot and cold stones have many advantages over traditional hot stone and regular forms of massage therapies. Hot stone treatment provides deep relaxation, positivity, balance and healing for our clients and it also helps to maintain a healthy therapist – as one full body treatment can be comparable to three manual body massages.
It is an experience where all people can benefits from receiving this wonderfully diverse therapy. It helps to regulate and balance the body’s temperatures, especially as the warmer months are here (a hot stone thermo will not have the balancing effects without the cool marble stone application). The treatment is tailored to meet individual needs and treat various conditions and ailments. No one treatment is the same and it is not needed as regularly as a manual massage due to the effects and benefits received.
The cool therapy application is both refreshing whilst soothing and calming at the same time. Energy levels can be lifted and revitalised, as it boosts the immune and circulatory system. The treatment is excellent for relieving hay fever and sinus issues, reduces congestion in the body, works deeper into the body’s tissues and systems, releases toxins from your body and eases and melts tension. The thermo work with the hot volcanic stones allows the muscles to respond and relax whilst being massaged with the warmth and toxins that are clogged within are released, giving effective pain relief. It’s advised that clients drink plenty of water after a session to help flush out those unhealthy and unwanted toxins.
