Your first day at The French
#FRENCHIES Because there’s one thing stronger than magic: sisterhood
Feeling anxious about making friends on your first day? You’re not alone! It’s actually one of the most common fears all soon-to-be #Frenchies have before they embark on their studies. Experiencing nerves before your first day is totally normal. We all worry about what others will think about us, will we fit in, will people be nice, will we be accepted… But at The French, you don’t have to be worried because you already have some friends – they’re the ones in the pink scarfs!
Our wonderful Student Ambassadors are friendly, kind and can’t wait to meet you and show you the ropes. They are always on campus, willing to listen, ready to help if you are ever feeling lost or overwhelmed.
To get you started on the right foot, we have designed a specialised Orientation schedule which is dedicated to ensuring you are fully prepared and dressed for success, both personally and professionally. Upon arrival to campus, you’ll be introduced into your class (named after amazing pioneering women in history) where we have a number of activities planned to get you comfortable and you’ll find out everything you need to know before your first official class! We’re here to help and our friendly staff and educators are here to answer all your questions, big or small.
Orientation Day Schedule
We have a number of key activities and sessions planned to get you comfortable, meet your peers and educators and find out everything you need to know before your official first class.
Here’s what you can expect on your first VET day…
We take the time to help you establish friendships and connect with your peers. You’ll meet your fellow VET FRENCHIES – who have come from different high schools and will be studying with you.
You’ll also meet your campus Principal, Deputy, Class Educator as well as other members of The French Faculty.
We will give you a tour of the campus and show you where you can find all the support and resources you need to complete your course!
We will fit for your French VET uniform and share our French uniform standards.
We’ve prepared a session for you that shares all the amazing information about the beauty industry and explores some of the potential pathways you can take upon completion of your VET program.
You’ll even get to see some of our amazing skin technology and devices in action!
You will leave comfortable and excited to get stuck into your course content next week!
what to wear
– Please wear long black pants, black t-shirt and in-closed black shoes (we recommend ballerina flats)
– Please tie your hair up in a neat bun or ponytail (for hair shoulder length or longer)
– Natural makeup should be worn (Foundation/bb cream and mascara at minimum)
– Only 1 pair of stud earrings is to be worn.
what to bring
– Water bottle
– Laptop
– Pen and notebook / student diary if you wish
– If you wish to bring your own morning tea and lunch, we have a student kitchen with fridges/microwave etc you are more than welcome to use. We are also located close to lots of cafes and eateries for you to buy lunch.
