Deeply rooted in the ancient beauty rituals of the Middle East and inspired by a lifelong devotion to wellness, community, and tradition, Rim’s journey into beauty therapy is one of heart, heritage, and purpose. Growing up surrounded by the rich cultural practices of the Moroccan Hammam, she developed an early understanding that beauty is far more than skin deep—it is a sacred act of renewal, connection, and self-love. After moving to Australia, she felt called to bring these meaningful rituals to women here, blending tradition with modern wellness in a way that honours her past while empowering her future. What began as a childhood ritual has since become the foundation of Kenz Beauty, a family-run business dedicated to authenticity, nourishment, and the transformative power of self-care.

OUR FLAGSHIP BEAUTY THERAPY DIPLOMA

What sparked your interest in pursuing a career in beauty therapy? Was there a specific moment or experience that inspired you?

My journey into beauty therapy was born from a lifelong fascination with self-care and cultural rituals. Growing up, I was surrounded by the authentic beauty traditions of the Middle East – particularly the Moroccan Hammam experience, which celebrates purification, wellness, and femininity. I wanted to bring that same feeling of renewal and serenity to women in Australia. The idea of combining beauty with meaningful wellness led me to pursue formal training, transforming a personal passion into a purpose-driven career dedicated to helping women feel confident, nurtured, and connected to themselves.

I grew up in the Middle East, where visiting the public market bath – known as the Souq Hammam – was a cherished weekly ritual. Every Friday, I’d accompany my mother, sisters, and cousins to the ladies’ spa bath. It wasn’t just about cleansing; it was about community, laughter, and celebrating moments like pre-wedding gatherings over morning tea inside the steam-filled Hammam. These traditions are a sacred part of my heritage, forever etched in my heart.

When I moved to Australia over 20 years ago, I longed for the traditional products we used in our Hammam rituals – especially the small black exfoliating glove, known as the Kesset Hammam. My grandmother used to handmake these gloves for us, carefully stitching them on her sewing machine. Each glove took hours to make. The fabric was coarse yet gentle, designed to slough off layers of dead, dull skin – revealing soft, renewed skin beneath. I still remember how fresh and reborn I felt after every Hammam session.

That feeling inspired me to create Kenz Beauty.

The name ‘Kenz’ has a very special meaning to me – it’s the name of my daughter, Kenzie, who is autistic. In Arabic, Kenz means treasure. I named this brand Kenz Beauty – The Treasure of Beauty – because Kenzie’s beauty is truly out of this world. Autistic children radiate a unique, pure light, and she is my constant inspiration.

Kenz Beauty is a family-run business, born from love and tradition. Together, we’ve created a range of skincare and wellness products inspired by ancient Moroccan rituals, infused with luxurious essential oils and enhanced with Australian native botanicals. From Argan oil and rosewater to handmade soaps, organic creams, body clays, and shampoo bars – our products are crafted with purpose: to nourish, cleanse, and restore.

We believe beauty is simple. You don’t need a thousand products or to chase impossible standards. Our goal is to enhance your natural glow and reconnect you with your own self-love and healing.

To complete the experience, we also created our Spa Mode range – natural candles, diffusers, and artisan soaps – to help you recreate a Hammam-inspired sanctuary in your own home.

Because everyone deserves to feel pampered, to slow down, and to discover the luxury of ancient self-care.

What was your main motivation to choose to study at The French Beauty Academy? What was it that drew you to study here?

The French Beauty Academy has always stood out to me for its elegance, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. I was drawn to its vision of empowering women in the beauty industry with both skill and grace. The French didn’t just teach me the techniques of beauty therapy – it taught me how to carry myself with confidence and integrity as a businesswoman. I knew that studying at The French would give me a strong foundation to create something truly special, something that blends beauty, culture, and entrepreneurship – exactly what Kenz Beauty represents today.

Do you remember your Orientation week? Can you share your experience or how you felt on those first few days/weeks.

Walking through the doors of The French for the first time felt like stepping into a dream. Everything about it – the classy uniforms, the attention to detail, the energy of the educators – made me feel like I was part of something extraordinary. I remember being both nervous and incredibly excited, knowing that this was the first step toward building my vision. Those early weeks were full of discovery – new skills, new friendships, and a renewed belief that I was right where I was meant to be.

Reflecting on your time at The French, can you share a standout moment or memory?

One of my most memorable moments was the day I realised how much personal growth I’d undergone. Between the theory, hands-on training, and client interactions, I saw myself transform from a student into a confident professional, especially that I was going through a major career change at that time, coming from corporate environment into the beauty wasn’t easy but it felt good, I knew it was meant to be. There was a moment during a client facial assessment when my educator praised my technique and client communication – I remember walking away feeling so proud. That moment reminded me that beauty therapy isn’t just about treatments; it’s about creating experiences that make people feel seen and valued.

What do you miss most about The French?

I miss the atmosphere – the sisterhood, the encouragement, and the way everyone genuinely wanted to see you succeed. There’s something magical about being in a space where every detail, from the decor to the language, is designed to inspire beauty inside and out. The friendships I made and the mentorship I received shaped me not just as a therapist, but as a leader and a woman.

Can you tell us about your business journey?
